REPTON CELEBRATES 57 NATIONAL HOCKEY TITLES

Repton School has once again reaffirmed its position as the country’s most decorated and successful school for hockey, proudly securing its 57th National Hockey title this season.

In an incredible display of strength across all age groups, Repton was the only school in the country to qualify for all four National Indoor Final days.

This year’s boys’ competitions were hosted by Whitgift School, where Repton’s U18 squad delivered an exceptional performance. The team remained undefeated throughout the tournament, securing the National Schools Indoor Championships title, beating the hosts 2-1 in the final moments. The U16 Boys demonstrated great determination and skill, finishing in 5th place nationally, beating Clifton College in their play-off fixture- a fantastic achievement.

On home ground, Repton welcomed schools from across the country for the girls’ U18 and U16 National Finals. The atmosphere was palpable as the U18 girls’ team secured the National School Indoor Championships title, finishing the tournament with standout wins against Epsom College and Haileybury. The U16 Girls followed suit a day later, beating Clifton College in another nail-biting finish in the final moments. Their dominance on the pitch capped off an extraordinary week of competition for the school.

Reflecting on the achievements, Gareth James, Director of Sport, shared his pride:

“I would like to thank all the incredible teams involved in this tournament. We are immensely proud of the outstanding commitment, determination, and resilience you have shown over the past few weeks. These qualities have undoubtedly paved the way for your joint success and, remarkably, our 57th National Hockey title.”
