PASTORAL CARE

EQUALITY, DIVERSITY and INCLUSIVITY

Repton is a truly global co-educational school, welcoming pupils from across the world to Repton and Repton Prep. Inclusion is at the very heart of our community ethos and respect is a highly prized Repton value. Our aim is to develop rounded individuals who are culturally attuned and socially conscious modern citizens, emotionally resilient and spiritually happy.

OUR COMMUNITY

Reptonians join us from many different regions and countries around the globe and the culture of the school community reflects this ethnic and cultural diversity. Within the House communities and across the school every opportunity is taken to embrace different cultures, religions, festivals and celebrations with events such as Maslenitsa, Chinese New Year and other national festivals and holidays. Departments who include specific syllabus content on race and diversity include Politics, History, French, Spanish, English, Business Studies, Ethical and Religious Studies and Geography, as well as in the PSHE programme and tutor sessions.

A SENSE of BELONGING

Repton promotes tolerance and acceptance through all spheres and provides a safe, non-judgmental space for all pupils, embodied in The Repton Pride Society, which is attended by LGBTQ+ pupils and their allies as well as The Repton Feminist Society.

In the 2020 ISI Inspection report, Repton was commended on being a harmonious place in which to learn with inspectors noting in visits to the boarding houses that boarders from different backgrounds get on very well together, integrate quickly and mix freely.

There are friends around and people to talk to when things don’t work out. Here, you can be happy and safe. There will be challenges to overcome but there will be chances to learn from them too.”
