REPTON ROLE MODELS: AARON HIBELL (ORCHARD 2009-14)

From Repton to the global stage: music producer and composer inspiring a generation

Repton School is proud to name Aaron Hibell (OR Orchard 2009–14) as the latest #ReptonRoleModel, recognising his remarkable achievements in electronic music and his determination to forge a creative path outside traditional boundaries.

After leaving Repton, Aaron followed his passion for music production, swapping university life for the studio. He drew on his love of classical music to craft his signature sound - a powerful fusion of orchestral composition with techno and trance.

His breakout came with the release of Monastery of Sound, a series of critically acclaimed mixtapes that caught the attention of the electronic music world. Since then, Aaron has produced music for the Apple TV+ film Tetris, collaborated with award-winning composer Lorne Balfe, and released his own original tracks to millions of streams and international praise. In 2024, his remix of Billie Eilish’s “CHIHIRO” went viral with over 50 million views across platforms.

With performances at iconic festivals such as Boiler Room London and Tomorrowland, Aaron continues to push the boundaries of cinematic electronic music. His tracks have been supported by global names like Martin Garrix, ARTBAT, and Amelie Lens, and his unique ability to blend sound, emotion, and storytelling sets him apart as one of the UK’s most exciting young producers.

Beyond the spotlight, Aaron has spoken publicly about his personal health challenges, sharing his journey of coping with eczema and topical steroid withdrawal to raise awareness and support others.

Aaron’s story exemplifies the creativity, risk-taking, and resilience we aim to nurture in every Reptonian. His pursuit of passion and innovation makes him an outstanding role model for our community.
