REPTON FAMILY OF SCHOOLS STRENGTHENS GLOBAL LEADERSHIP TEAM

With ambitious plans for rapid expansion in the UK and internationally, the Repton Family of Schools is reinforcing its position as a world-leading independent school group, already educating more than 10,000 students across three continents.

Signalling both immediate intent and long-term ambition, the Repton Group has appointed three of the most distinguished figures in UK independent education to newly created strategic leadership roles:

  • Sarah Fletcher, High Mistress of St Paul’s Girls’ School (2017–2025) and former Head of City of London School, recognised as a key contributor to the development of the Extended Project Qualification and Cambridge Pre-U.

  • Martin Collier, Master of Haileybury (2017–2024) and former Head of St John’s Leatherhead, with extensive experience in international schools and six years as Chair of HMC’s Academic Policy sub-committee.

  • Sue Woodroofe, Principal of The Grammar School at Leeds (2016–2025) and former Principal of The British School of Brussels. With leadership experience spanning state and independent, single-sex and co-educational schools, Sue was also Chair of HMC (2023–2024) and, in 2025, TES Independent Headteacher of the Year.

A hallmark of Repton’s success is its ability to attract and retain educators of the highest calibre. Each of the new leaders will oversee the development and academic quality of schools within a defined geography, ensuring Repton’s distinctive ethos and excellence remain at the heart of its international expansion.

These appointments underline Repton’s determination to deliver world-class educational standards and leadership across its global network.

Mark Semmence, Headmaster of Repton School and CEO of The Repton Group, commented:
“I am delighted that The Repton Group has been able to provide a horizon that is sufficiently exciting to attract such accomplished and visionary educational experts as Sarah Fletcher, Martin Collier and Sue Woodroofe. All three have held positions of enormous responsibility within the independent education sector. What this signals is, at one level, simple: we intend to be the school of choice for pupils worldwide. These notable additions to our senior leadership team will increase our intellectual and operational strength significantly.”

With a proven track record of academic and sporting success alongside a bold vision for the future, The Repton Family of Schools continues to set the standard for unparalleled international independent education.
