OLD REPTONIAN YOUSAF BIN NAEEM SIGNS TWO-YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH DERBYSHIRE COUNTY CRICKET CLUB

Old Reptonian Yousaf Bin Naeem has signed a two-year contract extension with Derbyshire County Cricket Club, following a breakthrough 2026 season in which he represented the county in all three formats.

A highlight of the season was his first-class debut, when he scored 71 runs to mark an important step in his professional career. His appearances across first-class, one-day and T20 cricket have given him opportunities to develop his game across the different demands of the county schedule. The extension now provides the platform to build on that experience over the next two years.

Yousaf spent five years at Repton, joining in B Block and continuing through to Upper Sixth. Cricket was a significant part of his school life, and he captained the 1st XI for two seasons, combining his own development as a batsman with the responsibility of leading his teammates.

He remains the School’s leading run scorer, leaving a lasting mark on Repton cricket. During his time in the side, the team also achieved record-breaking success, with back-to-back seasons setting new benchmarks for wins.

His progression from school cricket to representing Derbyshire is a source of pride for the Repton community, particularly those who taught, coached and played alongside him. For current pupils with ambitions to pursue their sport beyond school, his journey offers an example of where those early experiences can lead.

In the interview above, Yousaf reflects on his time under the Arch and the part it played in shaping his path into professional cricket. He looks back on the school years that preceded his county career, offering a personal perspective on his development as a player.

Everyone at Repton congratulates Yousaf on his contract extension and looks forward to following his progress with Derbyshire.
