REPTON SCHOOL WELCOMES NEW DRAMA DEPTARTMENT 

Joe Hornsby and Ethan Farmer join Repton, bringing a fresh outlook to our theatre

Joe Hornsby stepped into the 400 as Director of Drama at the start of term, bringing with him a love of bold storytelling, ensemble theatre and making exciting work with young people.

Having studied at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, Joe has directed everything from large-scale musicals to physical, ensemble-led productions, while developing Drama both in and beyond the classroom. He has also worked extensively in professional theatre and community participation.

Joe believes the best Drama happens when there is joy, generosity, play, anarchy and bravery in the room, and he is looking forward to bringing plenty of all five to Repton.

Ethan Farmer joins as Teacher of Drama, beginning his teaching career at Repton and bringing with him youthful energy and a passion for the arts.

Having studied Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Warwick, Ethan is a performer at heart and a former member of the National Youth Theatre. He also loves directing and writing, and has staged his own musical (a jukebox boyband musical, to be precise!).

Ethan believes Drama can unlock some of the most vital skills in a young person's life through experiences that can never be forgotten or replicated, and he hopes as many students as possible will get to share in that.
