B BLOCK FLEX THEIR ENTREPRENEURIAL MUSCLES
On Tuesday 9th September, the B Block were involved in the NatWest Enterprise Challenge as part of their academic enrichment programme.
As part of the day, the pupils worked in groups of 6, across different Houses as a way to both meet new people in their year group and challenge themselves to think creatively. Entitled ‘Start Local, Think Global’, they were encouraged to think of an idea to solve a problem, based on aspects of their local heritage, before considering how they could scale this to develop a potentially global business.
With ideas as varied as a Viking theme park, a café-bookstore based on the works of Roald Dahl, a jewellery business and development of a sporting store within Repton itself, the pupils showed their creativity and business acumen, considering the target audience, how best to market their products or services. The day culminated in the groups presenting their ideas to the whole year group, showing excellent confidence by each including a jingle or advert that they had devised. The NatWest team were hugely impressed by their work; it’s clear that Repton’s business future is strong!
