Netball is a major sport, played by the girls during the Lent Term, although training sessions take place throughout the course of Michaelmas in order to ensure thorough preparation for the start of the season. Repton has a strong reputation for netball at both inter-school and County level and in recent years our Under-16 and Under-18 teams have reached Midlands and National Finals.
The School boasts six outdoor netball courts and one full-size (or two smaller) courts indoors. These all-weather courts allow for all teams to play at the same time but also enable the School to host tournaments and coaching courses for large numbers of players.
Teams are run by dedicated and qualified staff, and the girls at Repton have also benefited from Olivia Murphy (former England Captain) and her colleagues coming into school to take training sessions. Teams are run at all age groups (Under 14A, B, C, D & E, Under 15A, B & C, Under 16, 4th VII, 3rd VII, 2nd VII and 1st VII) and there is a full fixture programme that has been built up over the course of the last 20 years against schools and teams with similarly matched teams.
There is also the opportunity for non-team players to enjoy the game and there is a strong ethos that every girl should be given the opportunity to pursue the sport of their choice. Coaching is available for girls of all standards, and we now run 14 separate teams.
