REPTON APPOINTS STOKE CITY’S MOLLY HOLDER AS GIRLS’ FOOTBALL COACH

Repton is delighted to have appointed footballer Molly Holder as a dedicated girls’ football coach.

Molly plays in the FA Women’s National league North and has recently transferred to Stoke City after a stretch at Middlesbrough. As well as benefiting from the experiences of a current league player, she is also working towards gaining the UEFA B coaching qualification.

Football is a focus sport at Repton for both boys and girls in the Michaelmas term with the School having an enviable reputation spanning many years. The development of the girls’ game remains a priority and a number of Reptonians have been selected to play at local clubs including Derby County and Burton Albion. Six pupils will be attending the Independent Schools Football Association’s National representative trials at the end of September.

Molly’s appointment will further strengthen the provision of football at Repton as she aims to encourage more girls to be involved with the sport. “As a current female footballer, I am very passionate about developing and supporting young female players. Women's football is a rapidly growing sport and it's an exciting time to be involved in the game, particularly here at Repton.

I aim to get as many girls involved playing, either for fun as part of a balanced and active lifestyle, or to progress and develop their skills to play externally. I will be able to use my own experiences as a player to pass onto the girls and be a role model for them."
