We are keen to support and build our relationship with Prep Schools and so we hold a number events throughout the year that Prep Schools are invited to. These include:
The Repton Challenge
A day of intellectual and physical challenge where teams of 6, Year 6 and Year 7 pupils, are given a specific task to complete in competition with other schools. In recent years it has been designing and building storage and transport for food and water to help provide famine relief; ‘Mission Impossible’ where the children had to rescue stranded passengers on a cruise ship and last year the design and marketing of a chocolate bar in ‘Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory’.
Donald Carr Cricket
A tournament for 8-a-side cricket teams (Year 7) playing in two pools, with at least one match on the famous 1st XI cricket square. Cups and medals for the winners and a fantastic barbecue lunch for all, including the parents.
Prep Schools' Tennis Tournament
This has been an annual event for over a quarter of a century and we regularly host 90+ teams at U11, U12 and U 13 age groups.
Music Department Open Day
An opportunity for prospective music Scholars to explore the Music School and have an informal assessment to gain advice on specific areas to work on in advance of a scholarship assessment.
Repton Choral Day
A wonderful opportunity for schools to sing together, learn a new repertoire of songs and perform them to their parents and teachers at the end of the day in a concert for their parents and teachers.
We also invite prep school musicians to attend various workshops throughout the year, for example this year’s Double Bass Day. Next year the National Youth Jazz Orchestra will come and deliver a workshop for prep schools.
The Repton Selection
Repton staff are more than happy to visit Prep Schools and to give lectures, coaching sessions or to preach and The Repton Selection provides schools with a short list to select from.
