In May 2010, Michael Morpurgo launched the Wicked Young Writers Short Story Competition. (In association with the hit musical sensation Wicked.) Seeing an article for it in the paper, my parents encouraged me to enter. So I wrote two stories, called Alone with the Angels and Circles. When I sent them off, I was disappointed to find that I didn't get a confirmation email that they'd received my entries. But, the entries were now closed. Of course, I was disappointed, it had been a great opportunity for me. But then, on the Monday before half term, I found an email on my inbox saying CONGRATULATIONS!!!
One of my stories will be published, and if it wins it will be performed by the award-winning cast of wicked! I am extremely excited; the award ceremony is in London on Tuesday the 16th November (at 2:00, yes, I do know it off by heart!!) Wish me luck!
