Visita Española

Spanish Sixth Form sets have had the opportunity to enhance and enrich their knowledge of Spanish language and culture whilst attending a presentation held at Nottingham University.  The event, organised by ADE International-Excal, focused on the region of ‘Castilla y León - the cradle of Spanish culture’. After a very informative lecture, in Spanish, on the history and cultural importance of this region (the delights of which remain mostly unknown outside of Spain) pupils were able to sample some of the gastronomic highlights of the area as part of a tapas meal.

“The lecture gave us an insight into the culture of Castilla y León and the tapas were reminiscent of a Spanish holiday” H. Hunt L6th Field

“Despite not winning one of the language study trips which were awarded to some lucky students I have had an enjoyable day and learnt a lot. It was a good experience.” B. Donovan L6th School

It was a great opportunity for the pupils to develop their listening and comprehension skills as well as to experience the taste of Spain, without having to leave the East Midlands!
