Match Report:
We knew that Rugby would be a strong team and with some changes to the team we knew it would be a hard game. Rugby started off strong and caught us slightly off guard. We were giving away easy passes, missing shots under the post and were lacking some fighting spirit. After a good chat at half term the girls seemed more aggressive and wanted to have a good game. Sophie was working well in defence and made some good interceptions, Esther was adapting well to her new position of WD and Emily was gaining confidence at GD. The score at half time was 12-11 to Repton.
The game was close throughout and both teams were feeling the pressure and giving away silly mistakes. Milly had found her shooting form and Harriet was making some good moves to allow space in the circle. The score after the third quarter was 20-18 to Rugby. The final quarter was tough; Phoebe was making good interceptions and taking control in centre court. Vicky was finding space and playing some good balls into the circle.
The final score was 28-25 to Rugby. The team was made up of 6th form and their coach said we were the strongest defence they had played against. The girls played well and fought hard and should again, be proud of their performance. LJB
