Match Report:

Repton were eager to have a good start to the season and we knew Chellaston would be good opposition. Repton stated off well, keeping possession and playing a much more controlled game, which is something that we have worked on in training sessions. Vicky was distributing the ball well, with Phoebe creating space in centre court. Meg and Emily were holding up the attack well showing improvement in defending blocking skills.

We continued to hold the lead till half time but then we entered the dreaded third quarter. The girls will be the first to admit that we didn’t play our best netball and let the good lead slip away. They knew that for the final quarter we needed to go back to playing controlled netball and not giving away easy passes to the opposition. The girls ended the match well and it was a good way to start the season. Man of the match is awarded to Vicky who played controlled netball throughout and has taken on board what has been said to her at training. LJB
