Match Report:
This was a competitive fixture and we started slightly nervously, the coach perhaps adding to the pressure with his pre-match ramblings. Nevertheless we competed strongly from the outset and worked hard off the ball to force Kimbolton into making mistakes. Once again our defence shone, and the pairing of Holly Harcus and Millie Louch dominated at the back making life very difficult for the Kimbolton shooters. Holly and Millie are becoming a really capable duo. Up front Joey Holroyd once again shot well in her new role, supported capably by Rosie Cordingley and later by Immy Clarke, returning from illness.
The second quarter remained a close affair, ending 16-8 in our favour, but it was the crucial 3rd quarter where Repton dominated and pulled away with a superb show of effort and skill. We ended the 3rd quarter 24-10 up and the fourth quarter was almost a formality.
The girls continue to be hugely impressive, and I have genuinely enjoyed every moment coaching them this season. From GK to GS, every girl has worked their socks off and shone; there is no weak link, and as a team they are incredibly hard working and determined.
What a season! Well done girls. It has been great fun, and good luck to those of you competing in the tournament next Saturday.
