Match Report:

I was extremely proud of the way that the girls approached this match; they showed a good deal of grit and kept fighting against a strong opposition. Our first goal came fairly swiftly in the first quarter, with some accurate shooting from Annie Broadhurst. Rugby swiftly retaliated and from this point forward they were simply more hungry for the ball, passing the ball accurately and intercepting our passes. Despite several injuries the Repton side worked hard, with Hannah Walsh and Annie Findley in defence showing huge determination. Our second goal came from Cara Evans, who stepped up to the position of GS when our shooter sustained an injury. The girls learned several lessons from this match, namely the importance of making the most of the opposition's mistakes, as well as the importance of marking the opposing team at all times. The scoreline does not reflect the effort that the girls put in, although there is clearly still much to work on in training.
