Match Report:

This was a far more closely fought match than the scoreline suggests. Chellaston's U13A side were particularly strong and their accurate passing allowed them to score from their first centre. However, our girls put the Centre pass we had practiced during training into good use and swiftly equalised. As the game progressed, it seemed that the Chellaston side were simply more hungry for the ball; they were intercepting our passes to great effect. R Higgins and M Peikert Brown worked together superbly in defence during the second two quarters, intercepting and blocking the Chellaston attack with skill and determination. However, the Repton side need to improve the accuracy of their passing, as all too often the ball was lost to the opposition in mid-court. A Broadhurst is developing into a wonderfully accurate shooter, and made the most of every opportunity to shoot at goal. Although they did not, perhaps, play up to their usual standard, there is no doubt that the girls worked hard. The key now is to work on marking our opposition more effectively and taking the time to make more considered decisions.
