Tomorrow's Engineers and Designers

During half-term four pupils travelled to the Institute of Engineering and Technology in London to receive their Arkwright Scholarships’ Awards.

These awards were introduced in 1991 to encourage and stimulate young people to consider engineering and technology as a career. In the early years of the scheme only five Scholarships were awarded, however this year there were 804 applicants, with 263 Scholarships actually awarded and Repton was one of only three schools to have more than three scholars.

The Scholars, Phoebe Whittome L6F, Calvert Hyde- Barker L6O (Sponsored by Mr R M Kirkland), Kamilah Lakhani L6A (Sponsored by the RAF) and Jade Shaw L6M (Sponsored by TWI Ltd), are pictured below on the steps of the Institute.
