The Priory continued

Welcome to The Priory. We are housed in an impressive Victorian building which has been substantially added to at various intervals, and was most recently refurbished in 2010, following on from 2004's £500,000 redevelopment. This created a modern boarding environment, while preserving the charm and character of the original structure.

I, together with my wife, Sarah, have been looking after boys in The Priory since September 2001 and it has also been a home to our two sons: Jack, 19, and Josh, 17, who is an upper sixth day boy in the house. We run The Priory very much as an extension of our own family home and it is our firm belief that the boys here enjoy the sort of happy, secure environment which prompts the development of confident, well-rounded and, ultimately, successful young men.

The Priory is a community in which new and young pupils are quickly made to feel welcome, nowhere more so than in the epic football and cricket matches, involving all years, on our extensive lawns or in the good-humoured banter of a lively tea-time dining-room.

All of the bedrooms and studies in The Priory are linked to the internet and contain new furniture and every boy, day and boarding, has his own lockable wardrobe. Junior boys are accommodated in two, three- or four- man rooms, Lower Sixth Formers in a combination of singles and doubles, with new arrivals partnering an ‘old hand’ for the first term at least, and Upper Sixth in single rooms. Day pupils are housed alongside boarders.

The house has two spacious common rooms, both of which have satellite TV, a pool table and new kitchen areas. There is also a House library with computer facilities and a careers section and a DVD library. Five new shower and bath rooms are spread around the house, all with private, individual cubicles.

I would be only too happy to show you around The Priory and give you the opportunity to meet the boys.
