Manchester United used to boast the potent combination of Rooney and Ronaldo; after being selected to take part in the ISFA Under 14 event based in Nottingham before Christmas, Robbie Astin and Ryan Binns provided The Cross' own duo with the opportunity to train with the country's top independent schoolboy footballers. Using the Nottingham Forest indoor facility on the Sunday afternoon to train as a squad, the boys played against Leicester City trialists the following day. Whilst Robbie has been selected to represent ISFA again in February in a smaller squad that will play West Bromich Albion's academy side, Ryan is currently on trial with Stoke City.
