In addition to its timetabled programme, the philosophy of the Art School encourages the notion of ‘Art for all’ and ‘education through exhibition’ and its doors are open throughout the week for pupils of all ages and interests. The department has, in the past, produced its own dramatic presentations known as the Tableaux Vivants, and annually organises the Fashion Show of collections made by the pupils, as well as co-operating with other departments for particular events. It presents numerous exhibitions in and out of the Art School itself and enters a number of national and local art competitions. It has also hosted national and regional conferences on Art and has an on-going programme of adult education in aspects of Art History.

The Artists-in-Residence scheme enables pupils, both on and off the academic timetable, to benefit from the expertise and inspiration of recent graduates and practising artists. Follow the link to learn more about their work.
