The first few weeks of the term have seen some wonderful performances on the Repton cricket pitches from Lathamites. In the 1st XI, Josh Moore and Tom Cosford have excelled, their spin bowling being particularly effective and yielding many wickets. With the bat, Tom scored 83 against Malvern, not to mention a 36-ball 64 against Nottingham High School. Josh, who stands every chance of breaking the school record for number of dismissals in a 1st XI career, has fared equally well, though his performance against Trent in the Twenty20 competition is most worthy of note. He rescued the innings from 39 for 9 to 80 all out, remaining not out at the end, before going on to take 2 for 8 in his 4 overs. In four years of 1st XI cricket, Josh has never been dismissed - a remarkable feat! Lower down, Daniel Hugill has been appointed captain of the U16A team and Fraser Lane captain of the U15B side. Fraser truly led from the front in the recent game against Malvern where he not only took a hat-trick but secured 5 wickets in 6 balls, a feat rarely seen at schoolboy level. Many congratulations to them all.
