Another fantastic win in the Caroline Tyler Relays for the Garden with a big thank you to Beth for organising and training the team once again! This was our third win although our first win in 2008 was a joint win with Mitre. It is so fitting that the cup goes between Mitre and Garden as Caroline Tyler was in the Garden and her sister Eleanor (swimming captain 2009) was in the Mitre..

Georgia Bridgen finished the medley in front crawl at top speed helping us to lap Abbey twice and win by a mile! Francesca gained the lead for us in back crawl as first swimmer in the medley. Hannah Chantler and Becca Lee both swam superbly in the front crawl relay with Georgia and Francesca again.

Steph Fearn swam breaststroke and front crawl both with perfect technique, Louise sped along for us in the front crawl relay and Hannah was as usual on top form in fly and front crawl whilst Erica got the lead in the second leg swimming front crawl. Caitlin showed she has not lost any of her swimming talent either! They were on such good form that they easily won the A Block Relay.

Zoe Furness started the race strongly in front crawl, followed by Claire who again swam a very strong race  in both this and the Medley, while Charlie finished the race as fast as she could ensuring another second place.

Sixth form just lost out to Mitre but all swam brilliantly with Beth, Pip, Jade and Caitlin all proving themselves to be top swimmers. Caitlin didn't even breathe on her length! Pip was astonishing in the fly and Meg gained a huge lead in the breaststroke.

The final Medley, which was all age groups was our piece de resistance and we stormed to the finish winning by one whole length.

A good way to start the year and keep the biggest trophy in the Garden!

Thank you to Sarah Wright and Holly Sherrad for time keeping and to Mrs Rushton for organising and running such a successful school event!

P.S. Third year in a row - let's keep this up girls!!
