Sue, the Matron of the Garden has started yet another initiative to keep the girls in the Garden busy. Last term we had Sue's cookery club, which is still popular but now takes place at any time the girls want to bake at the weekend as Sue is filling the 3pm slot on Sundays with "Gardening in the Greenhouse".
Lots of girls have been out planting seeds. The B Block are having a "grow the tallest sunflower" competition, whilst other girls including 6th formers have helped sow cherry tomatoes, courgettes, herbs, spring onions, lettuce and radish,
Some of the girls have had no experience of gardening before and have really enjoyed the calm and warm atmosphere of the Greenhouse on a Sunday afternoon, idly chatting with Sue and are now enjoying watching their plants grow, whilst sowing the next batch.
We are looking forward to the summer salads plucked fresh from Garden soil! Many thanks to our super Matron.
