Steeplechase girls do well despite wrong turn

Well done to all of the girls who performed so well in this year's steeplechase. Unfortunately a number of girls were misdirected onto the longer, boys course. This may well have affected the outcome as severeal strong runners from The Abbey had to run much further than their rivals. The girls were gracious in accepting the outcome however which is very much to their credit.

There were particulary strong performances from Shona McCallin (U6) (2nd), Wiz Mumby (L6) (3rd) and Sarah Cotterill (L6)( (5th) in the senior race. Nodira Ashurova (A Block) was first home for The Abbey in the Junior race.
