Special Speech Day prizes for Mitre girls

It is wonderful to report that in addition to the long list of prize winners already published two Mitre girls will also be receiving special prizes on Speech Day this year.

Eleanor Tyler U6M will be awarded the C B Fry prize. This prize is given in memory of C B Fry (O.R) for the most deserving candidate and is awarded for prowess at games and academic work. Eleanor is a very deserving winner having been fully involved in the life of the school. This year alongside her position as Deputy Head of House she has also been Head of Army and Captain of swimming. In addition she has played netball for the 1st VII team. Eleanor is hoping to take a place studying veterinary science in September.

Harriet Yeung U6M takes the Lorimer Prize this year. This prize is given by Mr R. C. Lorimer and is awarded to an U6th pupil from overseas who has made an all round contribution to the life of the school. Harriet has had an incredibly industrious career at Repton. This year including being Captain of Badminton, singing in the choir, completing three grade 8 music examinations and performing in several parts of the Lent Cabaret. Alongside this she has also made a major contribution to the life of the House – writing and performing the House Unison entry this year.

It is a real tribute to the dedication and commitment of these two leading figures that they will be recognised in this way. We are delighted to be sharing in their success. Well done indeed girls.

In addition to these special prizes there are also a number of girls receiving Headmasters prizes. These prizes are given for consistent hard work and application across the course of the school year and recognise the individual effort of pupils. This year they go to the following Mitre girls - Amy Davies (B Block), Bethan Lewis (A Block), Emma Clarke (O Block) and Lena Thiel (U6th). All these girls should be congratulated for recieving recognition for their individual effort and success from the Headmaster.
