Repton School

Sixth Form Curriculum (Years 12/13)

Most pupils study four subjects in the Lower Sixth at AS-level though some choose to study five if Further Mathematics is one of their options. In the Upper Sixth many pupils choose to take three of these subjects to the full A-level; some opt to continue with all four or indeed all five. Each of the following is available as a full A-level over two years and also as an AS-level over one year: Art, Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Classical Civilisation, Classical Greek, Design and Technology, Drama and Theatre Studies, Economics, English, French, Geography, German, Government and Politics, History, Latin, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Music, Physical Education, Physics, Religious Studies and Spanish. In the Lower Sixth, most pupils take “Civics”, a course designed by the School to consolidate and extend their AS-level studies. In the Upper Sixth, there is a timetabled lecture programme where pupils have the opportunity to hear distinguished speakers talk on a wide variety of subjects.

GCSE optional subjects and AS/A-level subjects are arranged in option blocks and whilst we naturally attempt to satisfy the desired combination of courses chosen by each individual pupil, we are not able to guarantee that every combination can be made available.

The curriculum is revised regularly; changes are therefore likely from time to time.
