Sixth Form Entry

As soon as you have decided that you would like to proceed with an application to Repton, you will need to register your child formally for a place in the school by completing a Registration Form, available on request from the Registrar. The form needs to be returned to the Registrar along with a £100 fee and a copy of your child’s passport. Although you are asked for House choice on the Registration Form, and this will be taken into consideration, at this point of entry it is very much dependent upon where space is available.

Entrance by Examination

For entry to our Sixth Form, pupils are required to be registered and will need to sit examinations in three in subjects they are likely to study at A Level. These can be sat at either General Entry or Scholarship level. These are normally held in the November preceding the year of entry, although enquiries are welcome throughout the year.

These papers will be based on GCSE standard questions and so pupils can prepare as they would for internal exams. Each candidate will also have an interview with a member of the Senior Management Team.

Entry to the Sixth Form is subject to a minimum requirement of 5 B grades at GCSE. Candidates must achieve at least a B grade at GCSE in a subject to be studied at AS-level, and an A grade in the case of Mathematics, any Science or a Modern Foreign Language.

We must also receive a satisfactory reference from a candidate’s current school.
