The summer term had a dual focus for Shona McCallin (U6th) this year. Attaining A Level grades to secure her place at Birmingham University was an obvious target that required dedication. Achieving selection for the England U21 team at the European Championships while only 18 was another ambitious target that she approached with a steely resolve.
To her credit Shona attained both goals and we are very proud of her for it.
Shona has kindly sent a picture of herself in action. The team did really well; reaching the finals of the competition. Shona also scored in the 2-0 win over Lithuania.
Apparently Shona is deferring her entry to Birmingham this year, so she can play hockey in The Netherlands. We wish her well and look forward to updates on her progress.

The results from the tournament were:
vs France won 3-1
vs Netherlands lost 1-5
vs Lithuania won 2-0 (Shona scored the first goal)
Semi vs Germany won APS 2-2 in the game then went to sudden death flicks (9-8)
Final lost 4-1.
