The Senior League is a very popular competition run throughout the Term for players who are not in the 1st Team. The Abbey campaign started with a thrilling 4-3 win over The Mitre on Tuesday 14th September. Kami Lakhani (L6th) and LucySetterington (L6th) gave particularly strong performances. Maddie Kelly (O Block) also made a noble debut in goal, with kickers that kept falling off!
The atmosphere at the game was great fun, with lots of shouting from The Abbey supporters -among whom were 1st Team players, who were on hand to give advice and encouragement. The next match will be on Tuesday (21st Sept).
The Junior League started without The Abbey playing, due to a freakish injury to goalkeeper ,Grace Buchanan's knee, during the warm-up. Medical support was very swift and accomplished, meaning Grace was up and about quickly. Most important to her, it also meant she could fully enjoy the Junior Social at the weekend. We look forward to The Abbey entering the competition on Thursday (23rd Sept).
