Sale of Work Dinner for Parents and Friends of The Cross

Sale of Work Dinner for Parents and Friends of The Cross

A record number of parents and friends of The Cross gathered last night to raise over £1000 for the Sale of Work charities. Guests were welcomed on Private Side by a jazz trio, featuring Teddy Roberts, Joey Ser and new Assistant Director of Music, Alex Hodgkinson. After Cava and canapes, the party moved through to a three-course-meal in the Boys' Dining Room, prepared by Michel. After the main course, a newly-completed piece of artwork was unveiled. Lower Sixth artists Alastair Carr, Cameron Winfield and Joel Mann, inspired by Cross House tutor, Ian Whitfield, have produced a stunning Cross-inspired piece of work which will take pride of place in the dining room for years to come. Guests were invited to purchase made-to-order miniature replicas of the work in aid of the Sale of Work. Judging from the list at the end of the night, the boys will be kept busy for some time to come! After-dinner musical performances by Nathaniel Paxton, James Nijjar and Gabriel Cowley delighted the guests and concluded a most convivial night. The Lower Sixth, who waited attentively on our guests, have shown the kind of leadership that will stand the house in excellent stead in the next eighteen months of their Repton careers.
