This year's Sale of Work was a great success, raising much-needed money for a range of local, national and international charities. The Cross' fundraising efforts began before half term with a strongly-supported and well-received dinner for parents and friends of the house. Fine dining provided by house chef Michel was accompanied by musical entertainment from boys in the house and the ever-faithful James Drinkwater.
Wear What You Dare Day on Thursday, 5th November gave boys from the house the opportunity to dress to impress, shock and amuse both the school and local community on this unique fixture in the school's calendar. Upper Sixth slaves were also at the beck and call of their younger masters, performing a range of tasks and challenges.
Our efforts culminated in a very successful Sale of Work and Fun Day on Saturday, 7th November. Old favourites such as "Mrs E"'s tombola and the Silent Auction were joined by innovative ideas from the boys; the freshly-made-juice bar, Guitar Hero challenge and bucking bronco all helped to raise a magnificent total this year.
We would like to thank all those who supported the house's efforts; parents, old boys from the house, current members of The Cross and the many people who bid for lots or simply fell off a revolving bull should be congratulated!
