We are very excited that The Repton School CCF band was revived for the Biennial Inspection this week. It has been a long time since the CCF has been accompanied in this way, and our guests were duly impressed. They gave a wonderful performance for the inspection of music by John Williams (Olympic fanfare), Into The Storm and Ballad for Benny. Gathered under the cloister in the Garth, directed by Mr Cadman, Assistant Director of Music, their playing filled the spring air, and definitely gave all assembled a massive list.
This Year Wing Commander Andrew Martin of 8th Squadron RAF inspected the troops and was delighted that the band played the appropriate RAF General Salute during the inspection. They played the RAF March Past for him when he left the Garth too. I hope we hear them playing again soon! I think the Garth can hear the distant sounds of Slaidburn already…
