Lats week the Music School held its annual Strings Day for visiting pupils from many of our feeder prep schools. Graham Oppenheimer (Head of Strings) had arranged a packed day for violinists, violists, cellists and double-bassists, who worked with our resident quartet - The Carducci Quartet and our strings staff , resulting in a fantastic concert at the end of the afternoon.

A jam-packed Beldam Hall was treated to a very engaging concert. Each section performed in turn, coming together to play Fanfare and Song, by Russell Keable. The Carducci Quartet performed several times throughout the day, which was particularly exciting for our 60 performing visitors. They held a Q&A session too, revealing the inner workings of a professional quartet, and quite what it takes to really be a serious musician. It was quite a day to remember, and was very much enjoyed by all.
