We are once again celebrating an outstanding set of A-level results, with more than 11% of entries being awarded the new A* grade, indicating that the candidate gained more than 90 per cent of marks in their A2 assignments – taken in the second year of the course.
Based on last year’s results nationally, 7% of entries were predicted to achieve an A*, and we are delighted that our pupils have surpassed this by a considerable margin.
Six pupils received two or more A*s and in terms of subjects 11 were awarded to Mathematics candidates, eight to those sitting Economics and six to PE candidates.
Just under half of entries (46.21%) were awarded an A grade and for the fourth consecutive year over 80% (80.9%) were awarded either an A*, A or B. Ten pupils achieved four or more A*/A grades.
Commenting on the results, the Headmaster: “We congratulate our pupils and staff on the results. The number of A*s awarded to our pupils is outstanding and we are very pleased to have broken the 80% barrier yet again for A and B grades.
The 2010 A-level examinations have once again seen Repton School pupils gain superb results which underline a consistently high level of achievement across all subjects.”
