For an hour last Saturday night Pears’ School was transformed into a spectacular fashion event. With a 30ft catwalk, lighting, DJs and 20 collections of garments a packed audience of 300 crammed in to witness a highly professional and enjoyable event.
Organised by the committee of Alice Whitehead, Leila Harding, Harriette Taylor, Abigail Lockwood and Flora Kay the evening was a great success. The committee galvanised many Reptonians into roles of both models and dancers, all working hard together to show off the pieces in true style. The garments, under the guidance of textiles teacher Alison Benson were all superbly made and could grace the catwalks in the professional collections of any of the big Fashion Houses.
The show not only included the creations of current pupils, but also three young ORs, Georgie Sheldon, Charlotte Simpson and Kelly Yan, displayed their degree collections from the universities of NTU, Northumbria and Central St. Martin’s. The parade of designers at the end of the show undoubtedly contained some of our future fashion gurus.
