Repton by Candlelight

This year’s “must have” stocking filler is the new Christmas recording of choral music by Repton’s Chapel Choir. This is the first such recording since the 1990s and is a beautiful and atmospheric CD, and ideal Christmas gift!



The choir is joined on this stunning CD by the School’s Jazz Band and Concert Band, as well as Foremarke’s Chamber Choir. The music is directed by Repton and Foremarke music staff, led by the Director of Music, John Bowley, himself a veteran of the choirs of King’s College, Cambridge and The BBC Singers, so no stranger to excellent Christmas carol singing!

“Repton by Candlelight” is a marvellous accomplishment, combining old favourites (“Once in Royal David’s City”, “Silent Night”) with items by modern composers such as Arvo Pärt, Benjamin Britten and John Joubert.
