Repton’s reputation for fostering footballing excellence has received another boost, with 8 Reptonians already chosen for ISFA representative sides in 2011.
Joel Atkin (C), having scored the winner in a 1-0 victory over Watford in October, has again been picked for the ISFA U14 boys for their games against Nottingham Forest and West Bromwich Albion at the end of this month, while Marcus Schneck has received his first call up. In the U15 boys' side, Stephen Kosmala (O) has been selected, and Patrick Tuffy (P) will turn out for the U16 boys against Blackburn Rovers.
Meanwhile, the ISFA U18 boys have chosen three Reptonians to spearhead their forthcoming tour of Finland, this Easter. Oliver West (P), Josh Miller (N) and school captain Sam Graham (S) will all travel with the 16-strong squad, and be based at the state of the art Finnish National Sport Institute at Eerikkila.
With these talented individuals and even a full international, Northern Ireland’s Johnny Gorman (C), among their ranks, boys’ football at Repton is going from strength to strength.
Not to be outdone, Repton’s girls are also in on the act, with Lucy Setterington (A) being chosen to represent ISFA’s Midlands side in the U18 Regional Representative Tournament, to be held at Marlborough College on Sunday 20th March.
This is tremendous news for Lucy, but also very encouraging for girls’ football in general at Repton.
