2011 sees Repton celebrating record A Level results, with 27.9% of all entries being awarded an A* grade and 64.9% of entries receiving either an A* or A grade. 84.4% of all papers sat were graded A*, A or B. In addition, 57 pupils achieved either straight A* or A grades. These results placed the School 65th out of 340 independent schools in the Daily Telegraph League Table and 18th in the League Table of co-educational schools published by the Times, where Repton was also the leading boarding school in the Midlands. 14 Oxbridge offers, including two choral awards, were also achieved and at GCSE level 64% of all papers were graded A* or A, with 25 pupils achieving 7 or more A*s.
Commenting on the results, Headmaster Robert Holroyd said: 'The 2011 examinations have seen pupils achieve our best ever results and I am delighted on behalf of the boys and girls. The number of A*s awarded to our pupils is outstanding and this shows that the School's policy of encouraging all pupils to aim for this grade through specifically targeted teaching has paid dividends. At the same time we are delighted with the achievements of all pupils who have worked hard and each year I get particular pleasure from the performance of pupils who have joined us in one of the lower sets and finish with an string of A and B grades. The fact that the School has achieved these results without having an excessively selective intake speaks volumes for the enthusiasm of our pupils and the dedication of our staff.'
