For the second year running the 1st VII Netball team has secured an unbeaten season in school matches stretching their wins to a mighty twenty consecutive victories. Playing some of the best netball this term the girls beat Uppingham 50 – 35 on Saturday to reach this outstanding achievement. Georgia Horn (L6G) is also celebrating her selection for England U19 trials. Still aged 16, Georgia, who plays and trains with the Loughborough Lightenings, will be the youngest player in the squad.
During the fixture against Rugby, a few weeks ago, every girl in B Block represented the School in one of the U14A, B, C, D and E teams. Despite any of the results this was a fantastic experience for all the girls involved. In fact we fielded an impressive total of thirteen teams against Rugby.
Nicky Oborn, Mistress i/c Netball, said, “This has been a fantastic season in so many ways, and despite the weather, the girls have been a pleasure to work with. We are so lucky to have such positive staff who have spent hours and hours on court to help the teams develop further and our thanks must also go to all the parents and supporters who have braved the term’s weather.”
