There has been a choral society of the village and school of Repton since the 1800s, and in 1930 Roald Dahl said of Mus Soc, ‘it’s jolly good sport, and rather funny’.

Mus Soc today is made up of ppils, staff, parents and members of the local community. Meeting every Thursday evening during Michaelmas term, this large choir comes together to learn and perform a major choral work alongside a professional orchestra. Over recent years this has included Requiems by Mozart, Verdi and Fauré, Haydn’s ‘Creation’ and Handel’s ‘Messiah.
