Many of you will remember that Maggie, one of the beloved members of the Mitre staff, sadly passed away in January of this year after a very brave battle with cancer.
The girls in the House wanted to do something to commemorate her memory, so on Sunday 8th May we will be running “Race for Life” at Darley Park in Derby. This is a 5km run starting at 11am. In total there will be 57 Mitre girls and staff running in the race.
There will be two birthday girls in the group – Head of House Hannah Barker and one of our top athletes Phoebe Walters 5M. We are especially grateful to them for taking part in the race on their special days!
We are hoping to raise money in memory of Maggie, and for the relatives and friends of many of the girls who have fought or who are fighting cancer.
