Mitre – “Keep on Movin”

Mitre – “Keep on Movin”

A great time was had by all at the House Unison competition last night!

The Mitre kicked off the evening brilliantly with their very own fun-packed rendition of “Keep on Movin” by Five. The House has had a great deal of fun preparing for the evening and the U6th have done a wonderful job of making the rehearsals short and amusing. The tactic this year was to make the song as action packed as possible – and there were certainly lots of actions! The adjudicator even picked out a specific point in which the girls had an action for “baby” – he felt they were perhaps a little over-eager in their rocking! The costumes were also excellent with the U6th dressed as “bee and birds” and certainly making their presence felt on stage.

Tamsin Bowers U6M was outstanding at conducting the song and her enthusiasm and smile were infectious. She had everyone’s attention and should be very proud of the job she did on the night itself. It was also wonderful to have Kiki Betts Dean U6M on the piano. Kiki kept a strong bass for the House to follow, and drew her own applause as she stood up from the piano to join in the clapping at the end of the song.

The House returned to the dining room for ice-cream factory, chocolate fountain and a wonderful rendition of this evening’s harmony song. This time together also gave the House a chance to present flowers to Tamsin and Kiki and thank them for all the hard work they have put into making it such a good event for the House.

Well done girls, and especially to the U6th who have provided a superb lead, chosen a great song and made Unison a fun activity for all 75 members of the House!!
