Mitre Juniors do it again - winning A and B team inter-House tennis!

On Saturday, out came the pink and blue socks and the tennis racquets as The Mitre A and B teams headed down to the tennis courts for inter-house tennis. As soon as we saw our competition we knew they were extremely good. Several players were playing with a higher age group. However they were no match for The Mitre.

We had twenty minutes to play as many games as possible. We faced the Abbey first who were on good form. However, all three Mitre pairs won. Amy Davies and Lily Kitts won their game against two other under 15 players 6-1; the two other pairs had a similar score.

This put us in high spirits after the first round and pairs two and three began to see the amount of victories increase. Unfortunately Lily and Amy, who had very strong opponents, lost their last two matches only very slightly, which was still very good due to the standard that some of the girls play at.

All in all both A and B teams had an extremely eventful day of tennis. We won a large majority of our games and lost only a couple. However, despite the odds, The Mitre came out on top and won the whole competition! I would just like to say thank you to Miss Fenn who was a great support as well as the other Mitre tennis players!!
