Mitre bakes cakes to raise money for Macmillan

In support of the Macmillan Charity's "World's biggest coffee morning" event, last week, the Mitre decided to bake cakes to be sold in the Grubber over break and also in the Staff Common Room.

This venture was supported by a range of girls in the House who spent time after tea on Thursday decorating the home-made cakes and covering them in lashings of icing and decorations. Many thanks indeed to our House chef Trish who helped to make this event possible.

The girls managed to raise an impressive £61.48 and should be delighted with their efforts. This money will go towards the superb work of the Macmillan Charity and is enough to help pay for a cancer support group to hold their first meeting.

This will be the first of many fund raising events throughout the year and we very much look forward to being able to support, as a House, both local and national charities in the months to come.
