Helen Joyce’s solo exhibition, lost cloister : found places, is now showing, until 16th October, at Gallery No 1 in the High Street.
Work selected for this show is informed by places Helen has known from
5 to 5, 000 miles from her studio including her latest paintings of the derelict but beautiful traces of a former coalmine. Within the layers of paint and meaning, she weaves a setting for her own story and for that of the viewer. Her paintings are intuitive and unprepared, giving their own dynamic of a journey of discovery still in progress.
Opening times are:
Saturdays 11am – 6pm
Sundays 12noon – 4pm
Fridays 6pm - 8pm
