Latham win Harmony

Latham win Harmony

After a very creditable, but unrewarded, rendition of 'Don't you want me' by The Human League in the inter-House Unison competition held on Friday 28th January, the Latham Harmony ensemble was determined to do better in Saturday night's event. Singing a version of The Red Hot Chilli Peppers' 'Under the Bridge', arranged, to much acclaim, by our very own Tom Hume (U6), the boys gave everything they had on an evening where the overall standard from all Houses was as high as ever. Led beautifully by Sebastiaan Howle (O Block) the boys engaged the audience from the opening bars and worked wonderfully together on stage. The judge, internationally renonwned conductor James Burton, commented not only on the brilliance of the arrangement and the high quality of the performance, but on how much the boys seemed to be enjoying singing together. After a nervous wait, Latham were announced the winners and, for the first time since 2005, the Harmony Cup returned to the far end of Tanners Lane. Many congratulations to Tom Hume, Laurence Webster, Jeremy Williams (all U6), Edwin Wilton-Morgan (L6), Sebastiaan Howle, Guy Davis (both O Block) and Joseph Jankinson (A Block) - you did us proud!
