Latham dominate House Athletics

The final two days of term saw Latham retain their crown as inter-House athletics champions. Dominant performances on both the track and in the field events secured 234 points for the boys in blue and white, with our nearest rivals, Priory, back on 189 points. The Juniors did well to secure some important points, but it was in the Intermediate and Senior categories that the Latham athletes enjoyed most success.

Intermediate winners included George Brockway (3000m, 800m, Triple Jump), Barnaby Dykstra (Long Jump) and Charles Perera (Discus); seniors champions were Christian Priestley (400m, Triple Jump), Josh Noakes (3000m and 1500m) and Tom Groombridge (High Jump). The seniors also won the 4x100m, 4x400m, and senior long relay (12x100m).

Further good news followed as it was announced that Dominic Chaffey and Christian Priestley had been appointed joint captains of school athletics for their U6th year. Many congratulations to them and to all the boys who competed so whole-heartedly for the House this year.
