On Sunday evening a full Beldam Hall was treated to a varied and fun Keyboards concert. Four pianos were required for this event, as Christine Palmer (Head of Keyboard) had arranged Rossini’s William Tell overture for 16 hands! Pupils and staff played, including Elena Cobb, one of our visiting staff, and Mark Sanderson, Head of Mathematics, who played both a Shostakovich and a Gershwin Prelude. Tristram Fane-Saunders performed Rowan Atkinson’s sketch The Pianist, and three members of staff played a rag.

At the heart of all this fun was some serious piano playing by the Reptonians. It was lovely to see 3 young pianists from Foremarke open the concert too. Kyoko Canaway, Isobel Hurren and Ian Chong got the evening off to a great start. Mozart’s Double Piano Sonata and Beethoven’s C minor sonata jostled with Chopin and Oscar Peterson. It was just the way to start the last week of term!
