Junior Footballers take House Trophy

Junior Footballers take House Trophy

The Junior Garden football team of Pip and Erica Sanders, Caitlin, Meg, Rosie, Jess, Lauren, Sophie, Ella, Avisha, Lois and Camilla looked like they were going to be bottom of the pile in the first half of the first match as there was lots of screaming and waving of hands and not much kicking happening. The excitement of playing football was just too much to co-ordinate any team strategies or tactical moves. We then sent on our secret weapon - Erica Sanders. She scored twice within minutes and took no prisoners. Suddenly we were out to win and not to impress the spectators with our glamour look! Lois was an unexpected bonus and scored a terrific goal by deflecting a difficult shot into the goal. Jess  managed to dance and pirouette down the pitch to score a goal with seemingly little effort...Pip was a brilliant goalie as was Camilla, which meant that we had a massive goal difference of 4 in the end - taking the Junior Trophy for the first time ever possibly? It was a great afternoon of hilarity and full volume screams; supporters were obviously numerous from the boys' houses and amidst the chaos we saw some real talent!

Another trophy for the shelf, Garden..keep them coming!

The Seniors were so close but lost to Abbey in a close finish of just 2 points difference. Star player was Maddie Sharpe who had impressive skills and should be quickly picked up for the Girls Football team.. Dani also was a tough player to get past - in fact the girsl worked really well together as a team. Tremendous efforts as always girls, and well done to Abbey!
